Florida

The great state of Florida, nicknamed The Sunshine State, is a peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida.  It has the longest coastline in the contiguous United States, approximately 1,350 miles and is the only state that borders both the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.   Jacksonville, on the northeast coast, is the most populous city in Florida, and the largest city by area in the contiguous United States. The Miami metropolitan area is the eighth-largest metropolitan area in the United States, but Tallahassee is the state capital.

Florida is best known throughout as a vacation destination with many beautiful beaches and welcoming cities such as Miami, Winter Park, Naples, Ft. Myers, Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm beach to name a few.  But Florida is probably best known for being the home of Walt Disney World and Universal Studios theme parks located in Orlando.  Florida is also the home to one of the oldest cities in the US, St. Augustine, which was established in 1565 by Spanish settlers.  Surrounded by History, there are so many points of interest throughout the state.  Florida is also the home of many historical forts, beautiful lakes & parks, including the Everglades National Park.  The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is also located here on the what is now called the Space Coast.

Traditionally Florida has been known as an agriculture state, and in the 1920’s there was economic growth that stimulated tourism.  This started the investment in hotels and resort communities.  The wonderful year-round climate along with growing availability of air conditioning and low cost of living has made Florida one of the largest growing states.  From its beautiful beaches to its picturesque lakes and many attractions, Florida is wonderful place to invest in your future.
